Sega's SCUD Race (Sports Car Ultimate Drive), also known as Super GT in the US, was originally launched in 1996. Designed by Toshiro Nagoshi of AM2 who also designed Daytona USA, the MODEL 3 step 1.5 hardware generates such realistic graphics that you actually feel you are in the car holding on for the ride of your life.
SCUD Race was released between the legendary Daytona USA 1 (1994) and USA 2 (1998) and has the same exceptional gameplay that Daytona USA 1 is renowned for. The environments look incredible- transparent tunnels, stunning lighting effects at night, flame effects, gorgeous scenery which varies with each course.
With force-feedback steering, the handling is incredibly responsive and your car screams around the corners with ease. As with Daytona USA you can use your brakes to powerslide on tight corners or downshifting to handle the really tough corners with agility.
The twin 29" high resolution monitors snap with color and clarity and you can switch between four different view points to get all the action!
You choose from four cars, each with unique handling and performance parameters to accommodate all skill levels. You can choose from a Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari F40, Dodge Viper GRS-R, and a McLaren F1.
Each of the four courses span multiple laps. If you can cross each checkpoint quickly enough you can add extra time to the clock and rack up higher scores. There are two beginner level courses, one intermediate and one advanced. The four courses are Dolphin Tunnel, Twilight Airport, Magic Ruins and Classic Castle. Each course lives up to its name with relevant scenery and landmarks varying from a marine aquarium you drive through in a transparent tunnel to torch-lit caves and a castle in the countryside
SCUD Racer uses two sets of speakers to surround you with sound and immerse you in the experience.
