EA Sports NASCAR Racing is so realistic a simulation of driving an 800 horsepower race vehicle only the real thing could be more exhilarating. The game uses 30 of the actual cars (accurate in every detail) with 30 well known drivers and NASCAR tracks coupled with motion modeling and 3-D graphics based on real world physics, to simulate being behind the wheel of a NASCAR racer with satisfying heart pounding reality.
The game has "computer assisted" driving technology to help appeal to young
and casual players alike, but also has all the challenges available for the more seasoned player.
EA Sports NASCAR Racing was released in 2007 by Global VR in conjunction with EA Sports. The game features 12 selectable NASCAR drivers including Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and 6 of the actual NASCAR sanctioned tracks including Talladega Super Speedway, Daytona International Speedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The cabinet features an authentic 4-speed gear shift and force feedback steering wheel providing the player with an exceptionally vivid 200+ mph driving experience!
The 42" LCD widescreen vividly displays the brilliant effects and scenery that add to the realism of the game. Switch between three different viewpoints to get all the action!
Players experience NASCAR-style nose-to-tail racing action speeding into banked turns and slipstreaming opponents as they attempt to sling-shot around them to take the lead. Players who run other opponents into the wall get a pair of red horns while players who keep it clean get a halo at the end of the race.
Damage received to the car doesn't affect performance unless the player crashes and crashes are breath takingly realistic.
Global VR, early in 2009, released a Track and Team update version 1.5. The update includes the addition of new NASCAR tracks like the Atlanta Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen International, as well as updated teams, drivers and car sponsors. Also included is NASCAR's new "Car of tomorrow". The Car of Tomorrow is NASCAR's current Sprint Cup Series model car.
The games six speaker High-Output audio system provides awesome 3-D sound effects for racing realism. Cockpits can also be linked together, up to a total of 10, for simultaneous multi-player competition.
