Grasp the gun ... Grasp is the world! The last one standing takes all!
2 Spicy (Too Spicy), released in 2007 by Sega, is a light shooter that runs on the Lindbergh platform hardware. Set in the underworld of the early 21st Century. Players must out-think, out-move and out-gun their rivals as they kill their way to the top.
In a manner similar to Time Crisis, players use foot-pedals to duck for cover and pop up to shoot at opponents. Unlike Time Crisis, 2 Spicy introduces a double foot-pedal system that allows the player to direct the movement of his character during play.
The game's double foot-pedal system allows freedom of movement and provides an openendedness to the gameplay which is missing in most shooters. Using the gun and dual foot-pedals the player can not only move in the desired direction but can change view, angle and standing-position. This is an important part of gameplay as it allows the player to utilise cover to his best advantage as he tracks down his rivals.
2 Spicy creates a slick grunge comic type viewing experience with vivid graphics that bring the action to life and superb visual effects that draw players into the action.
This game features six playable characters each with their own signature weapons such as a custom M1911, a Heckler and Koch MP7, a scoped Glock pistol and a Taurus Raging Bull revolver. There are eight scenes to fight in and players have the choice of Story or Versus Mode. Story Mode pits the player against rivals controlled by the computer or provides opportunities to practice skills. Versus Mode requires two players to compete head-to-head to see who will be the last man standing.
The game's characters have life-bars that must be depleted for a kill so a single shot will not take someone out. A single shot creates slight damage, combo shots (hitting your rival with a quick succession of shots) creates moderate damage, a head shot will create major damage and there is also the opportunity to inflict environmental damage by blowing up a car, oil drum, etc. near a rival and this can also create major damage.
This game is definitely not for the faint of heart but if you have the brass you can take out your rivals and establish yourself as the new top boss.
